WS 94. #22 TOP 100 2016.
This generous red shows a traditional character, with leafy, dried herb, tea and spice notes framing dried cherry, licorice and leather flavors. Firm tannins and balsamic acidity impart structure, and this shows plenty of depth, with a juicy, spicy finish. Drink now through 2025. 600 cases imported.
Blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, and 5% Mazuelo. Medium-high intensity aromas have moved into the mature savoury notes of umami, earth, cherry, and sweet spice notes. The palate is medium-full bodied with nicely pleasing aroma replays. Acids are very good and the finish length is excellent. Still many years left to enjoy. Tasted Sept/2016.
