The 2009 Beronia Reserva, composed of Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo of undisclosed percentages and aged in French and American Oaks for 18 months, has impressive aromas of sweet coconut, vanilla, oak and subtle leather on the nose and oak, coconut, vanilla and black cherry and blackberry on the palate. It is a medium to full bodied, extra-dry, integrated wine; BALANCED with fresh acidity, refined tannins (decant for 15 min) and a long and smooth finish. This is a powerful wine that deserves to be enjoyed on its own despite being food friendly; drink now till 2025 (long cork enclosure). My impression: BEAUTIFUL to DIVINE, 92-93 pts – recommended for its quality and value – STOCK UP before it sells out. Tasted in Dec/14.
