Fonterutoli's "second wine" pays exceptional attention to fruit quality, drawing from five different limestone sites...
This is a young, vibrant, energetic Chianti with quite pure currant, twiggy, fresh earth aromas. There is gentle oak...
Classically styled and elegant Chianti. The red cherry fruit and bracing acidity, the leathery note and just a touch...

This CC attempts to bridge the gap between traditional and modern and succeeds. Bright red fruit, crisp acidity, along with notes of vanilla from the new oak. My preference is for a touch less oak but the Sangiovese character shines through, so much so that the oak is just an enhancement. Ripe, but not overly so, this is really delicious. Drinking well now, should easily hold a few more years. Tasted July 2017.
Medium+ intensity nose consisting of red cherry and wood that echo on the light-to-medium bodied palate. Not overly complex, it has dusty tannins, very good balanced acids and finishes long. Enjoyable! Tasted Sept/2015.
