Brilliant example of what can be produced in Alsace at an excellent price. Lots of red apple, stone fruit, mandarin, white floral and minerality notes on the nose. On the palate, it's slightly off-dry, medium bodied with high acid and an oily mouthfeel. The flavours replay, along with some pineapple and more intense citrus notes on the very long finish. This is incredibly enjoyable now, but it could be cellared for another 5 years. Tasted January 2014.
Lots of action on the nose; pear, melon, and baking spices, which replay on the just barely off-dry palate along with citrus infused acidity and I like the 'white strawberry' reference though would have never thought of that myself. The finish shows a little bitter minerality. This is certainly a very concentrated wine, with a fullish mouthfeel, but balanced and harmonious.
Floral and waxy nose with a rich and smooth mouth feel but enough acidity to keep it refreshing.
Great match with seafood. Tasted September 2014.
