This is Man O’Wars flagship red in their flagship series (the wines are named after ships). It is a Bordeaux blend employing all five varieties, with cab franc in the lead. It is essentially a blended wine, drawing from 43 parcels of vineyard. It is solid, firm, proportioned and well-structured with considerable tobacco, garrigue and dense cassis-like fruit. But it is not really very outgoing at this point. The acidity is firm, the tannin as well. Excellent length and very well focused. Best 2015 to 2020+.
