Man O' War Valahalla Chardonnay 2010, Waiheke Island
Chardonnay
New Zealand
$35.00
Chardonnay is the most important white grape on Waiheke Island. 2010 was very hot dry vintage, driest on record, with low yields. This is huge golden chardonnay with a rich, sweet nose of peach melba, cashew and toast. It’s full bodied, with some sweetness, but it also has surprisingly good acidity that saves the day. It’s made in an oxidative style – 100% barrel fermented, but with no lees stirring or malolactic fermentation. Excellent length - very well put together.
