Black Paw Vineyard, which is named for its unique black clay soils, routinely creates very refined and deep wines –...
A beautifully creamy, slightly smoky chardonnay that is wonderfully appealing. Flavours of crème brulee, clove, lemon...
A round, ripe, generous and flavourful chardonnay, with ample orchard fruit flavour and generous but integrated wood....

Compared with the more Burgundian style Red Paw, the Black Paw has stronger notes of green apple and citrus dominating the nose, the palate gushes with full-bodied fruit. There is a dreamy creaminess and smokiness to this wine from the decent oak integration that made it my wife's favourite Chardonnay of the 2010 vintage.

Nice creamy butterscotch Canadian style wine. I did not notiice any bitterness, and I am fussy about that.
Very elegant buttery and apple aromas. Medium-full bodied with a crisp mouthfeel and bright acidity. Palate shows apple, butter, citrus and minerality. Good balance, with a finish that is a touch hot. Tasted Jan/2013.

This is an extremely stylish Chardonnay that shows off the ripe apple and buttery notes along with lime and stone fruit. It's medium bodied with a good seam of acidity to remind you this from a cool climate. The length is very good to excellent. Extremely happy with this pickup!!
89/90. Had three bottles, with the correct pairing this was a 90 point wine to me.
