The 2007 Rotllán Torra Crianza, aged in American oak for 12 months, is a medium bodied, integrated wine, with appealing aromas of red currant, fresh coffee fruit, cedar, oak and vanilla. It is well balanced, with refined tannins and a finish of medium length. It is nicely aromatic upon decanting, but these fade away only to re-emerge later on; hence this wine should either be drunk from the bottle or decanted for 45 min or more. It has cellaring potential and may evolve to be more aromatic, drink now-2018? My impression: VERY APPEALING, 90 pts - at $18, it is a great entry into the Priorat region - recommended try. Funny to read all the conflicting reviews of this controversial Priorat. Although the WA critics didn’t rather enjoy it, I thought it drank quite nicely.

Tasted October 2013. Very dense black fruit with lots of tannin and warm alcohol heat on the finish when poured right after opening. Took a previous comment's suggestion and let decant for 45min. Tannins settled down and things seem to balance out much more nicely with black currant, prunes, oak and a hint of herbally menthol notes. Wish I had another bottle to try again in a few years to see if it settles down further.

-burgundy red, aromas of wood/bark, wet cedar, alcohol, syrup and liqueur.
-dry
-a bit unexpected- coats the mouth- has some viscosity to it0
medicinal taste
-has a bit of a brandy or sherry effect
-long finish.

definitely not a wine i would ever look for- has quite a bit of complexity typical of the old world that i don't especially appreciate.
