This property very close to the city of Bordeaux was restored to glory following its purchase in 1987 by the Gervoson...
In a class of it's own, at least in this release, the 07 Larrivet Haut Brion white is a dense, richly flavoured...
Nose has great intensity showing dried herbal notes, fresh pineapple, rustic wood bark as well as floral notes....

This Bordeaux has a beautiful yellow gold hue. It is very aromatic with mineral, honey and fruit notes. The mouthfeel is rich, thick, almost creamy. Citrusy orange rind flavours, nuttiness, lemony acidity and a slightly sour edge. The higher ABV is evident with a touch of heat. The oak is measuredly integrated and complexity abounds. I would drink this all night if it weren't for hangovers, liver disease and the likelihood that I'd fall down and go boom. It's hitting prime time so pry open that cellar. 94+ March 2014.
Honestly, this wine is one of the best wines I've tasted all year! If it tastes this good now, think of how great it will be in a year or two?! Everything was wonderful about it - the aromas, mouthfeel, crispness, the incredible finish that lasted what felt like forever. I loved the honeyed fruit on the palate. It was so well balanced by the acidity. I would pay this price for this wine.
