Nice nose: blueberry, herbs.
Full bodied, lots of flavour: Tangy earthy-fruity currant and blackberry, herbal/licorice, smoke. Tastes like a Rhone wine! Good balance, lot's going on.
I liked this, Great value.

beautiful colour, well balanced, and full bodied
Tasted September 2011.
I'd agree with the positive reviews listed below (and above), but I found that the acidity wasn't well integrated and a little harsh on the way down. Could have been a slightly off bottle, or I just wasn't open to receiving the wine that day. But there was lots of good things going on with this wine.
Decant for 1 hr minimum
Very deeply coloured. On the nose, some spice and dark berries, but dominating is an overwhelming funk and alcohol. On the palate, the initial sense is a dense, deep wine but then that funk hits and very alcoholic. I suppose that some may say that this funk is terroir, but I call it a flaw. I usually love the wines of the south of France but this not nice. A shame, as this producer has impressed in the past. Perhaps an off bottle?
