This wine lacked the complexity I typically expect from a Châteauneuf-du-Pape. At $43.95, I suppose it delivered about what the price suggests. That said, it was well balanced and still enjoyable overall. However, I can’t say I preferred it over wines available at half the price. I tasted it over the course of a couple of hours and didn’t notice any meaningful evolution, so decanting doesn’t seem necessary.
