Inky ruby in colour, almost opaque. The nose is quite detectable in glass, black currant dominant in the forenose, with trace of vanilla and passing mint. Afternose shows caramel and a hint of pepper. Full bodied. The medium tannins reinforce the impression of spiciness. Not austerely dry, sweetness and acidity in balance. Pleasant and very quaffable, should be a crowd pleaser. On the scale Wow-Good-Decent, I rate it Good.
