An appealingly meaty and substantial wine off the top, if a little heavy on the oak-caramel component, this...

A blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 15% Carignan that was raised mostly in cement tanks, this has a fresh, stony mineral nose of black cherry and spice. It is medium+ bodied with lovely aroma replays, plus notes pepper spice and licorice joining the party. Nicely balanced with supple, textured tannins and fresh acidity. More spicy on the mid-palate, and continuing with mineral and spice notes on the long finish. Tasted Sept/2019.
