Superb product for those who are lovers of wines from the SW of France. Terrific fruit on the nose and palate with great spice; a real pleasure. Highly recommended. Excellent buy especially when it went on sale at our local LCBO.
A 2016 red blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache from the village of Faugeres in the region of Languedoc that borders the Mediterranean Sea in the south of France. This village is known for its mostly schist-containing soil, a metamorphic rock composed primarily of slate. Wild lavender, thyme and rosemary grow and mingle with the grape vines in this region and their scents get on the grapes themselves, perfuming these wines. You also get cranberry, strawberry, violets, black pepper, baking spice. Leather and licorice on the finish. Highly enjoyable and warming. Great winter wine.
