This elegant, modern red from the Douro Valley sports a fine fragrance and some finesse on the palate. Expect lifted...

Everything I want in a wine from the Douro. Pretty hefty but has good acidity and doesn't hit you over the head. Hides the granite in a soft velvet glove.
Day 2: noticing a bit more wood and spice in the background. Nice! Good match with the planned roast beef.
Very nicely made Duoro. The label says ageing in 100% new French oak, but very little oak comes through on the palate (thankfully). Instead, we get refined herbal-infused red and black fruit, fine acidity and a nice backbone of tannin. Very nice value. Tasted April 2019.
OK but not caseable as other wines we have had from Portugal in this price range.
